Dear Aspirant,
Thanks for approaching us at CareerGuide.com I appreciate your unique and no where heard query.
Manager as a role in an organisation is itself people oriented, there fore it does not matter which domain the person is a Manager of. Any Manager's primary responsibility it to be a 'peoples person'. There fore having interactions is the key to the success of a manager.
Finance as a domain is highly technical oriented and you are in a way right that anyone working in a finance department is engrossed in piles of papers, computers and calculators. However this is to some extent only.
Social interactions are very necessary since as far as finance is concerned there are many things and news happening in the finance and business world and that can be known only through social interactions more.
Best wishes,

Hi there,
Very very interesting question. But here I would like to know why???
Since humans are a social being, why are you running away from interaction.Secondly I agree with Anandwadekar jee,
Though Finance mainly deals with Machines, banks, transactions etc, but definitely interaction is the source by which you will gain knowledge.
Not only are they restricted to learning new things, which is there only, but also you need to know the internal functioning of the organization.
As a Finance manger, the Company directors would be mainly questioning you, as to where finances have been invested, current transactions, depletion etc.So you need to be interactive with fellow employees to know what is happening in the organization. For this you need to be social. By social I do not mean partying, but definitely spending quality time with the colleagues is a part of your job profile. At the same time, you may also be in charge of presenting financial data to the management, as well as Financial plans for every new term.Everything involves interaction.
Hope this answers your query.
Wish you good luck.................
